Cinematic Storytelling Meets Brand Experience

Andrew Popplestone is the Global Executive Creative Director of Territory Studio.

Andrew is a creative director and visual storyteller working at the intersection of cinema, brand and emerging experience.

For nearly two decades he has shaped some of the most visually ambitious work in film and entertainment — from the dystopian interfaces of Blade Runner 2049 and the tactile world-building of Dune, to the kinetic energy of Ready Player One and the atmosphere of The Batman. Working closely with directors including Denis Villeneuve, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Matt Reeves and Cary Joji Fukunaga, he has developed a creative process rooted in research, emotional intent and the belief that design should serve narrative first.

As Global Executive Creative Director of Territory Studio since 2016, he has guided the studio's evolution into one of the world's most respected creative forces across film, television, brand, experiential and games — working with organisations including Nike, Apple, Marvel, Adidas, PlayStation, Disney, Coca-Cola and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

His background in fine art and graphic design, combined with a lifelong obsession with cinema and craft, informs an approach that is rigorous and intuitive in equal measure. He believes the best creative work — whether a title sequence, a brand identity or an immersive experience — begins with a single question: what do we want people to feel?

He has judged for D&AD and Creative Review, is a member of the Type Directors Club, and has been recognised by the Clios, Royal Television Society, Promax and TDC.
